Novembre 15, 2024Novembre 15, 2024 Cactus π΅ amigurumi free pattern Hi! My apologies for not posting for a while, I have been taken by christmas orders, festivities and some new works that you will see soon. For now it is all top secret! π€Today I want to share with you a very cute Cactus amigurumi free pattern, made using a tin can as pot. If you are not good at taking care of plants but you still wish to decorate your house with them, this could be the right solution for you! You could use them to decorate your workplace or where you keep your yarn stash π§Ά You will need:– Domigurumi DK (8/8) cotton in green, brown, yellow and pink– a tin can (the small ones with 140/150g of legumes)Β – fiberfill– 3 mm and 4 mm hooks– yarn needle– hot melt glue The stitches that you will find in this pattern are:β magic ring– CH = chainβ SC = single crochetβ SLST = slip stitchβ HDC = half double crochet– INC = increase– DEC = decrease– BLO = back loop only – FLO = front loop only Let’s get started! First we will make the earth, in brown1. 8 sc in a magic ring2. inc in all stitches (16)3. (sc, inc)x8 (24)4. (3 sc, inc)x6 (30)5. 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc)x5, 2 sc (36)6. (5 sc, inc)x6 (42)7. 3 sc, inc, (6 sc, inc)x5, 3 sc (48)Make two slst to make your circle more round and fasten off, hiding the yarn tail on the back of your work. In green, we work in rows1. Ch 242. Starting from the second ch from hook, 23 hdc, ch 1 and turn (23)From the next row on, work one row in BLO and one in FLO3-16. 23 hdc, ch 1 and turn17. 23 hdc.Fasten off leaving a long tail. Sew the last round with the beginning chain to form a cylinder. To close the top of the cactus, weave the yarn tail in and out through the stitches and pull it tight to close, just like you do when you close the amigurumis. Firmly stuff the cactus with fiberfill. Cut more green yarn and use it to sew the cactus on the earth. Glue the earth on the border of the can, stuffing the pot before closing. Keep in mind that the fiberfill will get in the way while glueing but you need enough of it to keep your cactus to fall inside the pot. So stuff it a little and when you’re almost done glueing insert more fiberfill and close it! To make the pot we work in rows, with a 4 mm hookIn yellow1. Ch 202. Starting from the third ch from hook, 18 dc, ch 2 and turn3-18. 18 dc, ch 2 and turn (16 ROUNDS)19. 18 dc.Now to make the pot you have to options: sew the two edges together using the yarn needle, or with slip stitches. If you decide to sew them with your hook like I did, you have to ch 1 without fastening off, turn your work and make one slst in each stitch inserting your hook in the stitches of round 19 and in the beginning chain. When you’re done, fasten off and hide the yarn tail. Put the can in the pot, make a lapel and glue the border. To make the flower we need to work in the third loop, the one behind the chain of the stitches. In yellow, leave a long beginning tail, we will use it later to sew the flower1. 7 sc in a magic ring2. in the third loop – inc in all stitches (14)Change color -PINK- in the last stitch of the previous round3. in the third loop – (ch 3, 3 trc, ch 3, slst in the next stitch)x7Now keep working in the back loop of round 24. (ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, slst in the next stitch)x7Fasten off and hide the yarn tail on the back of your work. Use the yellow tail left at the beginning to sew the flower on the cactus.
